The Software Engineering Manager for SDN Control in Data Center Networks at Google will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing the SDN framework and applications to enable networking innovations at scale. This role involves managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and mentoring engineers. The team focuses on optimizing large-scale infrastructure and ensuring maximum availability for Google's data center network. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers responsible for developing the SDN framework, applications, and tools.
- Collaborate across Networking Infrastructure and Cloud with product managers and other software engineer managers.
- Define a goal and long-term strategy for the team, identifying and executing improvements to SDN Infrastructure.
- Drive all aspects of development including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.
- Mentor individual engineers focusing on alignment of long-term career goals to project priorities and business objectives.
