Job description
Join the Siri team at Apple as a Machine Learning Engineer / Tech Lead, where you will contribute to enhancing the world's most popular intelligent assistant. You will work on building and advancing machine learning models and systems that understand user intents across various Apple devices. The role requires collaboration across teams to design, build, and deploy machine learning systems that improve Siri's capabilities. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in machine learning, software engineering, and leadership potential.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, machine learning, language technologies, or related fields; outstanding candidates with Bachelor's degrees and significant engineering/product experience will also be considered.
- 10+ years of experience developing, shipping, and measuring industry-scale machine learning-based software systems.
- Experience as a senior engineer, tech lead, or engineering manager for a machine learning-based product.
- Expertise and experience in Large Language Models (LLMs) or other foundation models.
- Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and foundation models.
- Excellent software engineering skills in at least one object-oriented language and deep learning/machine learning frameworks.
- Outstanding problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in data science and analytics, including statistical analyses and A/B testing.
- Self-starter with a proven ability to handle multiple projects with strict deadlines.
- Experience in the iOS development ecosystem is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across teams in Siri and Apple to design, build, and deploy machine learning systems.
- Create and improve the accuracy, speed, reliability, and capability of Global Siri's models and systems.
- Mentor, motivate, and challenge engineers to deliver high-quality features.
- Engage in product metrics and goals with product managers, designers, and executives.
- Diagnose user-facing issues and develop principled solutions across the full engineering/machine learning stack.
