Job description
The Engineering Manager for Managed Payments at Stripe will lead a motivated team focused on scaling a new product area that simplifies global digital commerce for users. This role involves creating a compelling vision, setting clear priorities, and fostering a culture of high execution and open communication. The team operates at the intersection of various major products, addressing complex challenges in both technical and non-technical domains. The manager will also engage with stakeholders and ensure high engineering standards are maintained.
Requirements
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of several engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale.
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences.
- Technical acumen to engage thoughtfully with engineers around architecture and implementation decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of high execution, rigorous prioritization, and open communication.
- Define and drive the roadmap and priorities as the editor-in-chief of your team’s plans, collaborating with stakeholders across product, design, infrastructure, and marketing.
- Establish close feedback loops with customers and collaborate closely with partner teams across multiple organizations.
- Foster a high level of technical excellence on the team, upholding high engineering standards and implementing best practices throughout your team.
- Recruit, coach, and mentor engineers, helping them grow their impact and navigate a fast-evolving product space.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe’s engineering management team.
