As a Senior Software Engineer II at Confluent, you will lead the design and delivery of critical backend systems for the Stream Governance products. This role focuses on developing a cloud-native, multi-tenant platform that ensures data quality and integrity. You will work closely with a high-performing engineering team to tackle complex distributed data challenges. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of data streaming at Confluent.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating scalable production-grade backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in a major backend language such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and tradeoffs related to consistency, fault tolerance, and performance.
- Proven experience running cloud-native services on AWS, GCP, or Azure with containers.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and architect the cloud-native Stream Governance platform.
- Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex backend services.
- Drive projects from requirements and design through implementation and operation.
- Make architecture and technical decisions that balance reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Mentor and support other engineers through code and design reviews.
