As a Senior Software Engineer II at Confluent, you will lead the design and delivery of critical backend systems for the Stream Governance products. This role focuses on developing a cloud-native, multi-tenant platform that ensures data quality and integrity. You will work closely with a high-performing engineering team to tackle complex distributed data challenges. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the future of data streaming at Confluent.

• 8+ years of experience building and operating scalable production-grade backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in a major backend language such as Java, Go, C/C++, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and tradeoffs related to consistency, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Proven experience running cloud-native services on AWS, GCP, or Azure with containers.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and strong communication skills.

• Develop and architect the cloud-native Stream Governance platform.
• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of complex backend services.
• Drive projects from requirements and design through implementation and operation.
• Make architecture and technical decisions that balance reliability, scalability, and performance.
