Job description

The role involves driving product impact through measurement and evaluation for Apple products used by millions globally. The Data Science and Insights team focuses on guiding product development with data-driven insights. You will collaborate with engineering teams to enhance search quality and feature development. The position requires a blend of analytical skills and a passion for building outstanding products.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operational Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in data science, machine learning, and analytics, including statistical data analysis.
  • Strong programming skills, including data-querying skills (SQL and/or Spark) and experience with a scripting language for data processing and development (e.g., Python, R, or Scala).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop evaluation methods to improve the quality of Apple user-facing products.
  • Work with evaluation and experimentation engineering teams to translate methodological developments into technologies for product engineering.
  • Analyze large, complex data sets and solve difficult analysis problems using advanced analytical methods.
  • Conduct data collection, quality control, and processing, while building and prototyping analysis pipelines iteratively.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of product data structures and metrics, advocating for necessary changes.
