Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will join the Windows and Devices team at Microsoft, focusing on developing and operating world-class services for iconic products like Surface and Xbox. This role is crucial in ensuring that products move efficiently from the factory to consumers, enhancing customer satisfaction. The engineer will leverage AI in the software development lifecycle and ensure high-quality coding practices. Collaboration across teams and continuous improvement of systems and processes will be key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI across the software development lifecycle and lead high-quality coding practices.
  • Use telemetry, debugging, and root cause analysis to proactively prevent issues and improve system health.
  • Own or influence complex system design and architecture, balancing performance, scalability, cost, and trade-offs.
  • Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and compliance standards while driving automation and safe deployments.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end solutions and continuously improve systems and engineering outcomes.
