Job description

The Voice Control and Mobility team at Apple is focused on developing tools and technologies that enhance accessibility for individuals with motor impairments. The Software Engineer will work on refining accessibility features and assistive technologies, making a significant impact on users' lives. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Ability to create, understand and maintain Object-Oriented software designs
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: ObjectiveC, Swift, C++, or C
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Apple Accessibility APIs and/or Accessibility technologies
  • Familiarity with audio-related software development
  • Experience in developing safe and efficient multithreaded software systems

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine accessibility features focused on hands-free and alternative input across Apple platforms.
  • Develop assistive input technologies such as Switch Control, Head Tracking, and Eye Tracking.
  • Collaborate with team members to innovate and improve accessibility tools.
  • Learn quickly and adapt to complex code and new technologies.
  • Ensure high quality and attention to detail in software development.
