Job description

The Intermediate Associate Fraud Ops Analyst plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining a fraud prevention program for the International Private Bank organization. This position requires strong operational expertise and data analysis skills to identify and mitigate fraud risks effectively. The analyst will work closely with the Fraud Prevention Unit manager and collaborate with various teams to enhance reporting and operational efficiency. The role also involves communicating key initiatives to senior management and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of related experience, with a minimum of two years in banking or fraud prevention preferred.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to manage change with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with PIVOT tables.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau is a plus.
  • Exposure to SQL for data querying and extraction is highly beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of scripting languages like Python or workflow automation tools is a plus.
  • Awareness of AI and Machine Learning concepts in data analysis and fraud detection is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Review and confirm fraud alerts related to IPB U.S clients.
  • Monitor accounts with cash withdrawals exceeding a threshold or showing unusual patterns.
  • Confirm the legitimacy of checks that trigger alert parameters.
  • Review fraud-related cases opened by the business for suspicious activity.
  • Conduct second-day reviews of client changes from high-risk countries.
  • Assist the Fraud Prevention Unit manager with projects and initiatives.
  • Provide updates and communicate key initiatives to senior management.
  • Identify emerging risks and suggest mitigating controls.
  • Attend meetings and serve as a subject matter expert for the team.
  • Review goals, financial targets, and metrics, contributing to their development.
  • Develop diagnostics capabilities to predict and address fraud issues.
  • Analyze loss data to identify fraud trends and create project plans.
  • Investigate the root causes of fraud and develop programs to close gaps.
  • Perform capacity planning and contribute to team goals.
  • Interact with managers and clients to resolve complex issues using data.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations while assessing risks.
  • Investigate data anomalies to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in developing operational reports and dashboards.
  • Leverage SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation in fraud prevention tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data flow and reporting.
