Job description

Intel is seeking a motivated and talented CPU Physical Design Engineer to join the US CPU design team. This role is critical for developing next-generation CPUs that will drive the AI revolution. The engineer will work on various aspects of CPU physical design, including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with multiple teams and enhance design methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or any STEM related degree with 6+ years of experience, or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in VLSI circuit design and synthesis.
  • 4+ years of experience in static timing analysis.
  • 4+ years of experience in low power design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical design implementation of custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS.
  • Conduct all aspects of the CPU physical design flow including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis.
  • Conduct verification and signoff including formal equivalence verification and reliability verification.
  • Analyze results and make recommendations to improve CPU microarchitectures.
  • Work with industry EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities for CPU design.
  • Optimize CPU design to improve product level parameters such as power, frequency, and area.
