Amazon Braket is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to enhance its infrastructure for fault-tolerant quantum computing. The ideal candidate will have experience in low-latency distributed systems and will focus on optimizing interactions between quantum hardware and software. This role involves collaborating with the Workload Execution team and working with quantum hardware providers to define integration specifications. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the architectural evolution of Braket's execution stack.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • Experience designing protocol-level interfaces such as gRPC or custom binary protocols

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement interfaces that connect Braket's infrastructure to quantum hardware with minimal overhead
  • Build session management, memory management, and execution control systems for quantum device interactions
  • Optimize the critical path between customer workloads and quantum processors for minimal latency and maximum throughput
  • Collaborate with the existing Workload Execution team on shared runtime infrastructure
  • Work within Braket's established code review and operational readiness processes
  • Work with quantum hardware providers to define and evolve integration specifications
  • Contribute to the architectural evolution of Braket's execution stack for fault-tolerant workloads

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
