Job description
The Physical Design Engineer at Apple will work on innovative PHY design efforts, collaborating with architecture, CAD, timing, and logic design teams. This role focuses on delivering high-performance PHY designs that will impact millions of customers. The engineer will contribute to all phases of physical design from RTL to GDSII delivery. This position requires a forward-thinking individual who thrives on solving complex challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Deep design experience in high PHY and/or SOC designs.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices in Physical Design.
- Experience in developing and implementing Power-grid and Clock specifications.
- Strong understanding of Physical construction, Integration, and Physical Verification.
- Knowledge of Basic SoC Architecture and HDL languages like Verilog.
- Proficiency in industry standard Physical Design & Synthesis tools.
- Understanding of scripting languages such as Perl/Tcl.
- Solid understanding of Extraction and STA methodology and tools.
- Understanding of Physical Design Verification methodology.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to all phases of physical design from RTL to GDSII.
- Work closely with architecture, CAD, timing, and logic design teams.
- Perform physical designs of outstanding PHY design.
- Implement Power-grid and Clock specifications.
- Debug LVS/DRC issues at chip/block level.
