Job description
This role is for a Technical Program Manager at Apple, focusing on developing and delivering core technologies that enhance customer experiences. The team collaborates with supplier engineers and various multi-functional teams to ensure high-quality products through effective manufacturing processes. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge in optics, electronics, and manufacturing, along with strong project management skills. The goal is to identify and mitigate technical risks to enable successful product ramp-up.
Requirements
- 3+ years of technical experience in a high-tech industry with a solid understanding of manufacturing and quality engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering discipline.
- Master's or PhD in a related Engineering discipline is preferred.
- Experience with statistical and data analysis tools such as Tableau, JMP, SPC, FMEA, DOE, TA, DFM, and FlexSIM.
- Meaningful experience in introducing products into manufacturing and/or high volume production with Asia-based manufacturing suppliers.
- Experience in ramping optical modules into high volume production is a large plus.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people with varying degrees of experience.
- Excellent project management skills with program/project management experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and presentation/communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Engage with supplier engineers and Apple multi-functional teams to develop and deliver core technologies.
- Act as a link between Apple Design and supplier manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all technical risks associated with a product are identified and mitigated.
- Work in conjunction with the New Production Introduction (NPI) group and other teams to ensure top quality products.
- Combine knowledge of optics, electronics, and manufacturing processes to deliver results.
