Job description

The role involves designing precision components and subsystems for cutting-edge reticle inspection tools within KLA's Global Products Group. The team focuses on integrating optical, systems, and manufacturing engineering to ensure high-quality product development. Candidates will work closely with suppliers and address product issues throughout the development phases. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years work experience in 3D solid modeling.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in FEA and GD&T.
  • Strong background in the design of mechanisms.
  • Basic understanding of optical subsystems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding fabrication, and castings.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design process from beginning to end, including requirements specification and feasibility studies.
  • Develop and track cost and schedule for projects.
  • Generate detailed models and drawings using 3D solid modeling software like Creo.
  • Conduct various analyses such as fluid, thermal, and vibrational using hand calculations and FEA modeling.
  • Perform detailed tolerance stack-up analysis and understand Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Participate in and lead design reviews to obtain peer-oriented design assessments.
  • Procure, assemble, and test prototype materials.
  • Support system integration and testing, creating assembly and test procedures.
  • Generate documentation and support the release and handoff to manufacturing.
