Job description
Elanco is seeking a skilled Bioanalytical Scientist to join the Large Molecule Assay Development team within Research and Breakthrough Innovation. This laboratory-based role focuses on developing, validating, and executing ligand-binding assays to quantify monoclonal antibodies and other protein therapeutics. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with immunoassay platforms and a strong understanding of the bioanalysis of large molecules. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to innovative solutions in animal health.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline; OR
- M.S. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; OR
- B.S. with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, validating, and running ligand-binding assays.
- Strong understanding of the principles of pharmacokinetics for biologic drugs.
- Proficiency with common immunoassay platforms, with ELISA experience as a minimum.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ligand-binding assays for the quantification of monoclonal antibodies in various biological fluids.
- Perform bioanalytical methods according to internal SOPs and global regulatory guidelines, assessing assay performance characteristics.
- Analyze samples from preclinical and clinical studies to provide high-quality data to project teams.
- Characterize, conjugate, and manage critical reagents to ensure long-term assay consistency and performance.
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with assays.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and platforms to improve assay sensitivity, throughput, and robustness.
- Meticulously document all experimental procedures and results in an electronic lab notebook.
- Work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional matrix environment, communicating effectively with team members.
