As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing energy-efficient and cost-effective data centers. Your role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery of construction projects while maintaining safety and security standards. You will be responsible for communication and coordination with stakeholders and vendors, as well as managing documentation and project tracking. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of construction or project management experience
- 2+ years of vendor management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience creating process documentation
- Experience in construction or reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
- Experience managing large-scale projects from end to end
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training
- Experience with Procore, PlanGrid, or equivalent construction project management software
- Experience with OFCI or owner-furnished equipment coordination and delivery tracking
- Experience reading and interpreting construction schedules (P6/Primavera or equivalent)
Responsibilities
- Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFI’s, and change orders for regional leadership review.
- Request and review MOPs for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
- On-board new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
