Job description
This role involves joining the Hydro team to advance open source distributed programming and AI systems. Engineers will work on the Hydro framework for Rust, focusing on compiler design, AI agent development, and distributed systems engineering. The team collaborates closely with academic partners and emphasizes open source contributions. Candidates will have opportunities to lead projects and engage with both internal and external customers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 3+ years working on concurrent, parallel or distributed systems or compilers or modern build tools
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Fluency in Rust
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience leveraging AI based development tools to build production software
Responsibilities
- Work on the open source Hydro framework and its integration with Amazon's Kiro family of coding agents.
- Engage with customers to uncover real-world development challenges and translate them into product capabilities.
- Build and deploy novel software engineering technology to improve safety, reliability, and simplicity.
- Balance innovation with operational excellence in technical choices.
- Engage with teammates on software engineering in Hydro and internal customers to enable their success.
- Collaborate with open-source users and contributors publicly.
