Job description

The Principal Software Engineer will join the DPU Integrations and Operational Excellence team within Microsoft's Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure group. This role focuses on designing, building, testing, and deploying automation tools for control and data plane software on custom-built silicon. The engineer will manage field incidents, maintain dashboards, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative products deployed at a global scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and deploy innovative integration and diagnostics tools.
  • Provide technical leadership to teams and create quality plans for DPU-based compute products.
  • Lead the team by monitoring test plan execution and ensuring testing efficiency.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide engineers in monitoring systems for degradation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to debug field issues and drive sessions to identify root causes.
  • Maintain dashboards of live and dormant cases and key performance indicators.
  • Incorporate feedback from field issues into the engineering development and testing process.
