Job description
The Highway Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on designing transportation solutions that enhance safety and mobility in Wisconsin. The engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex design solutions and provide mentorship to junior staff. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a preferred focus on Transportation.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin.
- 4–8 years of roadway/highway design experience, particularly with WisDOT projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with experience in Bentley OpenRoads considered a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of WisDOT design standards, state highway specifications, and federal roadway guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare highway and roadway designs for WisDOT urban and rural projects, including interchanges and major reconstruction efforts.
- Develop detailed plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and design documentation for state highway projects.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers to deliver complex highway design solutions.
- Participate in quality control reviews and assist with project coordination throughout all design phases.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff.
