Job description

The Edge Engineering System team at Microsoft is seeking exceptional engineers to enhance engineering workflows and enable rapid development of high-quality code. This role focuses on leveraging AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle to streamline processes and improve code quality. Engineers will collaborate with various teams to ensure timely and automated releases while adhering to security and compliance standards. The position emphasizes a growth mindset and a commitment to building an inclusive culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Go or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate artificial intelligence tools and practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Conduct incident retrospectives and identify root causes of problems.
  • Review product feature code and test code to ensure it meets team standards.
  • Understand and provide feedback for proposals for architecture.
  • Create a clear test strategy that ensures solution quality.
  • Contribute to the identification of requirements for automation within production and deployment.
  • Maintain operations of live site service and respond quickly to mitigate issues.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements.
