Job description
The Microsoft AI – Bing Places Data team is looking for a Software Engineer II to enhance the adoption of Location, Places, and POI data for Copilot and Bing Search experiences. This role involves utilizing a variety of software tools and services, including data analytics, machine learning, and service engineering. The engineer will contribute to creating rich content from location entities globally and will play a key role in driving the growth of Generative AI. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to building inclusive products for customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python is preferred.
- 2+ years of hands-on software design and coding experience is preferred.
- Experience in AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers and technical leads to clarify user requirements.
- Contribute to solution architecture and create design documents.
- Implement maintainable and extensible code while participating in code reviews.
- Develop and refine test plans and ensure robust test coverage for backend services.
- Integrate telemetry and improve tools and processes for engineering excellence.
- Champion customer-first design to enhance loyalty to Copilot and Search.
- Apply critical analyses to data to validate hypotheses and inform decisions.
