Job description

The Power Systems Engineer role at AWS focuses on advancing power infrastructure systems for data centers. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 5+ years of direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical data centers or power infrastructure
  • Experience with power generation equipment, systems, and controls
  • Familiarity with power flow studies and utility interconnection requirements
  • Experience in electrical power design and interpreting electrical drawings
  • Possess data analytics skills and comfort with large datasets
  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Understand current trends in data center power demands and grid integration of large loads
  • Evaluate and support the development of power generation configurations for different applications
  • Provide input and direction to Data Center Engineering teams for design revisions
  • Work independently and collaborate with Senior and Principal Engineers
  • Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
  • Continuously learn and explore new ideas in power systems
  • Offer creative solutions to complex problems
  • Collaborate with internal groups and external suppliers to accomplish project goals
