Job description

As an Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, ensuring their design, operation, and maintenance meet high standards. You will collaborate with diverse teams to troubleshoot issues, develop innovative solutions, and lead engineering audits. This role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of AWS infrastructure while supporting the company's vision of being customer-centric. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Valid and active driver's license.
  • Coursework in commercial/industrial mechanical systems.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Data analytics skills and comfort with working in vast amounts of data.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site/equipment failures.
  • Support operational issues with ad-hoc training and complex operating procedure reviews.
  • Own the conceptual design for data center upgrades and design solutions.
  • Interface with internal teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability.
  • Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
  • Initiate and lead engineering audits, producing reports with risks and mitigations.
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting commissioning and turnover.
