Job description

As a Camera Architect in the Camera Technologies group, you will design innovative technology for Apple products' camera systems. You will collaborate with various teams to research, develop, and qualify camera hardware, ensuring exceptional photography experiences. The role involves driving future camera hardware requirements while considering various technical aspects. Your work will directly impact the performance and features of Apple's imaging solutions.

Requirements

  • BS in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science or related field and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience with imaging system simulations and evaluation of simulation results
  • Experience with image quality metrics and image quality evaluation
  • MS, or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Imaging Science or equivalent
  • Experience with mobile imaging systems and module designs in areas such as image sensors, optics, mechanics, auto-focus, and optical image stabilization
  • Experience working with state of the art ISP data-flows and processing blocks
  • Experience with modern imaging algorithms such as HDR, super resolution, and image fusion
  • Experience communicating across organizations and at the executive level
  • Experience writing detailed and clear reporting of data analysis

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with camera hardware, product hardware, algorithm, and software teams on future imaging solutions
  • Drive future camera hardware requirements that align with product vision
  • Perform detailed system analysis and tradeoff evaluations
  • Push boundaries in technology to arrive at optimal solutions
  • Initiate and foster collaboration between cross-functional teams to enhance camera performance and features
