Job description

As a Physical Electrical Analysis Engineer on the SoC team at Apple, you will focus on driving the electrical analysis and verification of system-on-chip (SoC) designs. This role involves performing various electrical analyses at both the block and chip levels, ensuring the integrity and performance of Apple’s hardware products. You will collaborate closely with CAD and technology teams, as well as the implementation team, throughout the chip design cycle. Your contributions will be vital in achieving sign-off closure for tape-out and supporting cross-functional engineering efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and circuit design.
  • Experience with ASIC or AMS physical implementation and analysis flow.
  • Scripting skills to automate and debug verification flows for digital VLSI design.
  • Familiarity with industrial EDA backend verification tools including Redhawk, PrimeRail/Voltus, and PrimeTime/Tempus.
  • Past experience with sign-off on successful chip tape-outs.
  • Circuit design background and SPICE experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various electrical analyses at the block or chip level, including Static/Dynamic IR, EM, Noise, and Signal EM.
  • Work with CAD and technology teams for flow bring up and validation.
  • Collaborate with the implementation team during the entire chip design cycle.
  • Drive sign-off closure for tape-out.
  • Handle schedules and support cross-functional engineering efforts.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
