Job description
The role is for an enthusiastic imaging scientist focused on developing new camera technologies and experiences for Apple products. The IQQ team, which includes diverse engineering roles, aims to improve image quality and create innovative photographic experiences. Candidates will work on cross-functional projects and interface with various engineering teams. The position emphasizes the exploration and prototyping of image processing technologies.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background in color imaging, image processing, or image quality.
- Deep knowledge of digital photography and camera components.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Imaging, Color, Vision, Computer, Optics Science, EE, or equivalent with 3+ years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in HDR imaging, from capture to display, and tone mapping.
- Knowledge of optics, signal processing, color perception, human vision system, and mathematical modeling.
Responsibilities
- Identify and explore new image processing technologies for future Apple products.
- Prototype new technologies and develop algorithms.
- Educate a broad audience at Apple about the benefits and tradeoffs of new technologies.
- Conduct design of experiments and analytical data processing.
- Collaborate with other software and hardware engineering teams on projects.
