Job description
This role at Apple focuses on developing and optimizing RF automation systems for connectivity technologies such as WiFi, Bluetooth, and UWB for various Apple products. The position involves working from the R&D phase to mass production, ensuring high-quality wireless performance. The team collaborates with chipset manufacturers and in-house design teams to tackle technical challenges and deploy innovative wireless features. Candidates will engage in calibration algorithm development and design validation for different wireless technologies.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- 1 year of experience with WiFi system knowledge to analyze, design, and troubleshoot WiFi subsystems.
- 1 year of experience with Bluetooth system knowledge to analyze, design, and troubleshoot Bluetooth subsystems.
- 1 year of experience with RF fundamentals to analyze and troubleshoot RF-related issues at the product level.
- 1 year of experience with RF test equipment knowledge to develop measurement systems to characterize RF behavior.
- 1 year of experience with wireless communication to develop system validation benches including rate vs range or Bluetooth audio quality assessment.
- 1 year of experience with signal processing to develop RF calibration algorithms.
- 1 year of experience with microwave theory to analyze and troubleshoot hardware and radio impairment issues.
- 1 year of experience with antenna theory to develop OTA testing systems to evaluate RF antenna design and performance at the product level.
- 1 year of experience with wireless system simulation to conduct analysis of wireless hardware behaviors at the concept phase.
- Experience in software development and testing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize RF automation systems for connectivity technologies on WiFi, Bluetooth, and UWB.
- Engage in calibration algorithm development at both conducted and radiated levels.
- Implement test algorithms to measure key RF metrics such as Tx Power and Rx Gain calibration.
- Collaborate with chipset manufacturers and test equipment vendors to analyze wireless performance data.
- Support manufacturing builds during new product introduction phases.
- Design calibration routines and contribute to a multi-faceted test software suite.
- Travel internationally and domestically as required for the role.
