Apple's Ads team is looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join the Ads Relevance and Quality team. This team focuses on ensuring high-quality and trustworthy ad experiences by building intelligent systems that evaluate ad relevance and detect low-quality content. The role involves applying machine learning and natural language processing to enhance user satisfaction and maintain the integrity of advertising. You will collaborate with engineers and researchers to implement cutting-edge ML techniques that impact millions of users daily.

• 4+ years of experience applying machine learning at scale in domains such as ad tech, content moderation, search ranking, or recommendation systems
• Strong expertise in natural language processing, including offensive content detection and semantic matching
• Experience with Transformer-based architectures such as BERT and training pipelines in TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Familiarity with fine-tuning Large Language Models for tasks like classification and content moderation
• Familiarity with quality and fairness evaluation frameworks such as precision and recall
• Hands-on experience with A/B testing and performance debugging in production
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or a related technical field
• Additional experience in Scala or Java

• Design and implement models and systems that understand user queries and flag inappropriate content
• Evaluate ad relevance and optimize user satisfaction across billions of queries and impressions
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to apply machine learning techniques in real-world systems
