Job description
AMD is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to develop and test electrical and electronic components for semiconductor products such as GPUs, CPUs, and SoCs. The role involves managing product activities from definition through production and ensuring compliance with design criteria and industry standards. The engineer will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle. This position emphasizes innovation and problem-solving in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Business and Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- One year of experience as a design engineer, engineer consultant, or in a closely related technology or engineering occupation.
- Experience with CAD tools.
- Knowledge of product development cycles.
- Familiarity with the physical design (PD) process.
- Understanding of CPU architecture.
- Experience with DFM Review.
- Knowledge of SMT.
- Experience in Engineering Change Order (ECO) Management.
- Familiarity with PCBA Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test electrical and electronic components and systems for semiconductor products.
- Design, develop, and manage activities for specific products from definition through production.
- Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, and quality teams.
- Review design prints and documentation to ensure compliance with design criteria and industry standards.
- Support new product introduction by facilitating problem-solving discussions across teams.
- Participate in Development Review Meetings and Golden Sample Reviews.
- Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics in the design and testing of AMD products.
- Apply engineering principles and best practices to product development.
