AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Firmware Engineer to take on end-to-end responsibilities for USB IP activities in AMD products. The role involves developing and executing feature enablement and test plans, writing firmware for embedded microcontrollers, and debugging system-level issues. The engineer will also prototype firmware USB features for future System on Chips (SoCs) and develop test automation infrastructure. • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
• Experience in software verification, Linux or Windows internals, OS kernel and systems development, object-oriented design, memory management and multi-threading, low-level device drivers, and embedded driver development.

• Assume end-to-end responsibility for pre-silicon and post-silicon activities related to USB IP in AMD products.
• Develop and execute feature enablement and test plans for USB IP.
• Write firmware for embedded microcontrollers in C.
• Debug and solve system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms.
• Prototype firmware USB features for future System on Chips.
• Develop test automation infrastructure and scripts.
• Proactively drive improvement with all touchpoints.
