Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role emphasizes collaboration with architects and hardware engineers to verify new features and ensure high-quality ASIC development. The engineer will utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and design techniques to contribute to complex integrated circuit layouts. Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Experience in hardware verification.
  • Knowledge of design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Experience in functional verification of microprocessors.
  • Ability to create C models for design.
  • Familiarity with virtualization and memory management.
  • Understanding of Linux or Windows internals.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Collaborate with architects and hardware engineers to understand new features to be verified.
  • Build test plan documentation accounting for interactions with hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases.
  • Build directed and random verification tests and debug test failures to determine root causes.
  • Work with RTL engineers to resolve design defects and correct test issues.
  • Review functional and code coverage metrics and modify tests to meet coverage requirements.
