The Analyst/Associate will join the Global Risk Management team within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, focusing on independent oversight and risk governance across various asset classes and strategies. The team is responsible for monitoring market, liquidity, counterparty, and operational risks, while ensuring adherence to the risk governance framework. This role involves collaboration with portfolio managers and other stakeholders to enhance risk management practices. The position also includes regulatory reporting and providing detailed updates on risk metrics.
Requirements
- Strong academic record with a degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline
- Strong quantitative skills
- Experience in Fixed Income Market Risk gained from working within the investment management industry is advantageous
- Strong experience in measuring, monitoring, analyzing and reporting risk exposures, especially related to Fixed Income products
- Detail oriented with a strong control mentality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Daily and weekly monitoring of the risks associated with GSAM funds across different investment strategies
- Developing, implementing, and enhancing stress tests, scenario analyses, and risk attributions
- Building and maintaining relationships with portfolio managers and other key stakeholders
- Providing regular updates on changes in risk metrics and stress tests to senior AM Risk Management
- Ensuring adherence to the independent risk governance framework
- Assessing and quantifying market risk through various metrics, including drawdown controls and VaR
- Providing information to Divisional Risk Management
- Providing detailed market risk updates and reports to Boards of Directors and regulators as required
