Job description

The Senior Data Scientist role at Microsoft focuses on leveraging data science techniques to improve sales compensation and operations. The Worldwide Incentive Compensation team is responsible for designing and implementing incentive plans that impact over 40,000 employees. This position requires a blend of technical expertise in data science and business acumen to drive efficiency and innovation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google.
  • 5+ years of programming experience in Python, SQL Server, and PySpark.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience translating business requirements into data-driven solutions using ML algorithms.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally to identify and pursue opportunities for applying machine learning to quota and incentive design.
  • Educate field managers and sales leaders on quota methodology and model mechanics.
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable methods to analyze large datasets.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and automated processes to ensure high data quality.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to functional team members and org leadership.
