Job description

The Applied Scientist II role within the Engineering Operations Data & Applied Sciences team focuses on developing advanced AI solutions to enhance the Azure customer experience. The team is dedicated to operational excellence, ensuring security, reliability, and quality in Microsoft's cloud services. This position involves collaborating with a diverse group of professionals to drive AI projects from inception to global deployment. The ideal candidate will leverage machine learning and AI technologies to deliver measurable improvements and contribute to the company's intellectual property.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field with relevant internship experience.
  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Direct experience building intelligent AI reasoning agents using machine learning and language model frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Drive AI projects through their entire life cycle from idea creation to worldwide availability.
  • Perform rigorous experiments and evaluations to assess the quality and impact of solutions.
  • Communicate technical findings and insights effectively.
  • Integrate machine learning models into production systems and optimize their performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including researchers, applied scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft Responsible AI standards throughout the AI system lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on advancements in machine learning and contribute to the company's intellectual property.
