Job description

The Software Engineer role in the Universal Media Engineering team at Apple Services Engineering focuses on designing and building services that enhance the Apple TV experience for millions of users. This team is dedicated to creating next-generation sports and media experiences, working collaboratively with various teams across Apple. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas to improve scalability, latency, and quality of the platform. This position requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience building resilient, high-scale, distributed microservices in production environments.
  • Proficiency in software programming with Java or another object-oriented programming language.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and other relevant technologies.
  • Proficient in algorithms and data structures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in stream processing and data processing tools and best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Cloud Environments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI technologies through professional, academic, or personal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build services that directly impact the Apple TV user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, business operations, design, and curation teams.
  • Write code that enables seamless media experiences for users.
  • Solve problems with incomplete or partial data and requirements.
