Job description

Apple is seeking talented Perception Algorithm Engineers to join a team focused on enhancing the capabilities of Apple products through innovative AI/ML and robotics solutions. The role involves collaborating with skilled engineers and scientists to create new experiences that empower users. Candidates should be self-motivated and passionate about integrating modern deep learning with classical techniques. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that aims to improve lives.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or MS with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in systems programming (C++/Swift) and writing performant, production-quality code.
  • Fluency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning and traditional perception and state-estimation pipelines.
  • Experience designing scalable evaluation pipelines for learning-based and classical perception pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers and scientists to develop new experiences for Apple products.
  • Blend modern deep learning techniques with robust classical algorithms.
  • Break down complex problems into testable solutions while prioritizing user accessibility.
  • Build and deploy on-device computer vision models or multi-object tracking systems.
  • Contribute expertise in machine learning approaches, computer vision, or robotics software.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
