Job description
The role involves joining the Intelligent System Experiences team at Apple, focusing on generative AI research to enhance user experiences. The team works on core modeling technology for applications like Genmoji and Image Playground. The position requires building modern generative models and adapting large-scale foundation models. The candidate will engage in applied research while pioneering experimental ideas tailored for Apple's ecosystem.
Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience working on training and fine-tuning modern image/video generation models.
- Experience working in an academic or industrial research environment.
- Proficient in an ML framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to drive clarity in ambiguous circumstances.
- Track record of strong industrial research, including delivery of complex projects or publications in top-tier venues.
Responsibilities
- Build and adapt modern generative models based on diffusion and auto-regressive technologies.
- Stay updated with the latest AI research to apply impactful developments.
- Pioneer proprietary, experimental ideas designed specifically for Apple's unique ecosystem.
- Work with web-scale datasets and distributed training of foundation models.
- Collaborate with team members to advance and ship state-of-the-art technology.
