Job description

The GPU Performance Tools/Content Engineer will be part of the Silicon Technologies group, focusing on developing tools and content for performance analysis, tuning, and debugging of Apple's GPU products. This role involves creating graphics and compute workloads to measure GPU performance and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance GPU efficiency. The engineer will also validate the functionality of features implemented in hardware and software while addressing performance challenges unique to mobile GPUs. This position is crucial for driving the architecture of next-generation mobile products.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • 3 years of relevant experience in GPU performance analysis
  • Experience with programming in Python, C, or GPU programming
  • Strong software debugging skills
  • Knowledge of computer architecture
  • Familiarity with Linux and bash/shell programming
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Experience with OpenGL/CL, CUDA, and/or Metal API programming
  • Knowledge of 3D graphics architecture
  • Experience with Assembly optimization
  • Experience with Tableau, Splunk, MongoDB, or SQL databases
  • Experience with React and JavaScript programming

Responsibilities

  • Develop graphics and compute workloads to measure GPU performance
  • Create tools to aid in the efficient measurement, communication, and improvement of GPU performance
  • Debug performance issues to identify software problems
  • Collaborate with driver, compiler, and app engineers to improve GPU performance
  • Validate the functionality and quantify the performance benefit of features and algorithms implemented in hardware and software
  • Conduct directed studies and provide solutions to performance challenges unique to mobile GPUs
