Job description
This role is part of the Media Domain Platforms team at Apple, focusing on media processing for various Apple use cases such as TV, movies, and Apple TV+. The position involves handling the entire media lifecycle, from creation to scheduling and developing custom formats. The engineer will collaborate with multiple teams, including design and production support, to develop sophisticated media processing pipeline systems. Additionally, the role includes implementing secure media distribution solutions.
Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
- 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems for large-scale network services
- Proficiency in utilizing Java and related tooling to build software
- Experience with Bazel, Gradle, or Maven build tools for Java software
- Familiarity with Git and Github for version control
- Experience using Kubernetes and containerization technologies
- Knowledge of JUnit or similar tools for software testing
- Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases such as Cassandra, Oracle, MySQL, or DynamoDB
- Understanding of SHA-256/512 HMACs, mTLS, or bearer tokens for authentication
- Experience with access control mechanisms for security authorization
- Proficiency in utilizing JSON and HTTP to implement REST-style APIs
Responsibilities
- Handle the entire media lifecycle from creation to international scheduling.
- Develop custom media formats for various Apple use cases.
- Collaborate with design, business operations, and production support teams.
- Develop the next generation of media processing pipeline systems.
- Implement cryptographic integrity validation for secure media distribution.
- Contribute to Apple Services Engineering's Media Processing Services.
