Job description

NVIDIA is looking for innovative Applied Researchers in deep learning to join their Applied AI Architecture group. The team focuses on applied research that merges AI with biology, aiming to develop foundational and generative AI models. Candidates will have the opportunity to publish their work and contribute to NVIDIA's Health Platform ecosystem. This role involves working on real-world projects in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree (MS or PhD) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in developing, training, and deploying deep learning models at scale.
  • Experience with multimodal learning and integrating diverse data modalities.
  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks or systems and strong expertise in distributed training.
  • Demonstrated capability to conduct independent research and develop effective solutions.
  • Proven history of publications and presentations at leading conferences.
  • Solid programming abilities in Python and C++, with experience in PyTorch and/or CUDA.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, build, and implement novel deep learning architectures for biological data.
  • Develop multimodal learning systems that integrate heterogeneous data types for improved representation and prediction.
  • Develop both foundational and generative models along with agentic AI systems.
  • Develop digital twin systems for healthcare by integrating mechanistic models and physiological data.
  • Implement deep learning systems coordinated with agents for end-to-end workflows.
  • Evaluate model performance, analyze results, and iterate on builds to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Apply knowledge of distributed training to build high-quality code for large-scale models.
  • Collaborate closely with a diverse team of researchers, bioinformaticians, and domain experts.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
