Job description

The Network Development Engineer role within the Core Networking team at AWS focuses on building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks across global data centers. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure the stability and sustainability of next-generation IP networks. The team is dedicated to delivering high standards for safety and security while optimizing network performance and efficiency. Requirements

  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, and scaling.
  • Create and implement changes on the network.
  • Lead network projects in areas such as network sustaining engineering and network optimization.
  • Sustain AWS's next generation networks by providing critical network support.
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues.
  • Drive and support innovation across the network infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams for smooth roll-out of new designs.
  • Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance.
