Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineer to join the Payments Technology team in New York. The role focuses on developing new payments and funding capabilities using core Java, Angular/React, and various database technologies. The engineer will implement a cloud-first strategy and participate in the entire software development life cycle. This position allows for telecommuting up to four days a week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience in the position offered or eight (8) years as a Software Architect, Senior Technology Associate, or a related role.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience with core Java application development.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience with relational databases and SQLs.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience with behavior driven development using frameworks including Cucumber, JBehave and Concordion.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience with front end development using Angular or React.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience building event driven applications leveraging MQ or Kafka.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience with cloud software development solutions.
  • Requires eight (8) years of experience developing distributed systems using web services.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a software developer within the Payments Technology team.
  • Deliver strategic initiatives to enable new payments and funding capabilities.
  • Implement a cloud first strategy.
  • Participate in the software development life cycle from system definition to deployment.
  • Implement, design, and maintain assigned software components.
  • Participate in software design and code reviews.
