Job description
The Software Development Engineer role at Amazon S3 focuses on designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions for the next generation of products. The team is dedicated to enhancing the performance, availability, cost, and security of S3 services. You will work on writing distributed software to address various use cases while mentoring junior engineers. This position is part of the AWS Utility Computing organization, which supports a wide range of cloud services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 4+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to improve service performance, availability, cost, and security.
- Use Rust and software engineering best practices to ensure the quality of all team deliverables.
- Write high-quality distributed system software.
- Work in an agile development environment focusing on the most important tasks.
- Mentor junior software development engineers.
