The Embedded Software Development Engineer role focuses on building and owning server-related firmware within the AWS Hardware Engineering team. This team is responsible for creating innovative server designs that support Amazon's cloud services. Engineers in this role will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to solve complex infrastructure problems and enhance AWS's operational excellence. The position offers the opportunity to directly impact product improvements and contribute to the next-generation platform.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• 5+ years of experience with software development for server platforms
• Understanding of server platform design and architecture
• 5+ years of experience with BMC (baseboard management controller) development
• Experience with systems management protocols or standards such as I2C, MCTP, PLDM, Redfish, USB, SPDM, PCIe
• Experience with accelerated server design with GPUs
• Experience with operating complex systems at cloud scale

• Develop and maintain server Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) software.
• Engage in embedded system development and scripting language development.
• Provide data center operation support.
• Develop Linux drivers for server platforms.
• Collaborate with a team of software developers to create scalable solutions for data center infrastructure problems.
• Build, validate, and support firmware across diverse technology domains.
