Job description

The role is for an experienced Software Development Engineer focused on enhancing the shopping experience at Amazon through large language models. The Amazon Shopping Team aims to improve online shopping with AI-driven conversational capabilities. The position involves collaborating with engineers and scientists to develop agentic services and applications. Candidates will contribute to the technical roadmap and establish best practices for LLM applications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
  • Experience building or operating LLM-powered agent systems
  • Experience with agent evaluation frameworks
  • Experience hosting or serving large language models at scale

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop agentic services and applications powered by large language models
  • Build expertise in online service architecture, API development, and distributed systems
  • Develop service orchestration patterns, efficient agent frameworks, and real-time processing systems
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap, service reliability metrics, and optimizations for intelligent agents
  • Establish best practices that improve LLM application efficiency
  • Design and implement large scale distributed agentic AI applications
  • Collaborate with technical and business leaders to create value for customers
  • Contribute to prioritization, estimation, and sprint planning activities
