The position is part of the Platforms and Devices team, which aims to enhance user interaction with technology through innovative software and hardware solutions. The engineer will work on real-time sensor fusion and biosignal monitoring, bridging the gap between research and embedded systems engineering. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact user experience through cutting-edge technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in software development, with 2 years of experience delivering AI/ML algorithms for production systems.
  • 3 years of experience in C or C++ for production delivery on embedded targets.
  • Experience using Python for exploratory data analysis, algorithmic modeling, and prototyping.
  • 3 years of experience with ML infrastructure, including model deployment and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, train, and evaluate novel AI-based architectures for on-device sensor fusion and gesture recognition.
  • Own the full model optimization lifecycle and apply advanced techniques to adapt deep learning models for edge inference.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance, real-time constrained architecture sensor pipelines in C/C++.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, product, and UX teams to influence the design of next-generation health sensors.
  • Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for on-device sensor algorithms.

Benefits

  • Employees at Google are often offered benefits like comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements, among other benefits.
