Job description
The Engineering Manager for the NIC Pipeline at Google will lead a team of engineers responsible for software that runs on Google's fleet of Network Interface Cards (NICs). This role involves managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and ensuring the technical strategy is upheld across various teams. The manager will advocate for architectural soundness and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with software development, including C/C++ in a Linux environment.
- 7 years of experience working with embedded operating systems and firmware development.
- 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
Responsibilities
- Advocate the technical strategy for the complete NIC pipeline team.
- Define and uphold end-to-end performance and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with partner teams to ensure smooth interplay across components within the pipeline.
- Lead cross-team efforts to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues affecting the pipeline's operation.
- Ensure the readiness and stability of the NIC controlplane and the overall pipeline for new NIC NPIs.
