The Staff Software Engineer for Network Health at Google will lead a team focused on enhancing AI/ML infrastructure. This role involves setting long-term technical roadmaps to improve safety and observability while automating network diagnostics. The engineer will work on integrating new hardware platforms and driving qualification workflows. This position is critical for ensuring maximum availability and efficiency of Google's large-scale AI infrastructure.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio technology, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
• 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure, including model deployment and evaluation.

• Define the long-term goal for repair automation of AI/ML infrastructure through multiple parallel programs.
• Lead the design of agentic diagnostic systems that utilize Generative AI for automating diagnoses.
• Work with platform teams to integrate new hardware platforms into the automation ecosystem.
• Lead critical safety initiatives, such as automated anomaly detection, to protect fleet health.
• Mentor junior and executive engineers and influence engineering practices across the broader infrastructure organization.
