Job description

The Platforms and Devices Senior Silicon Engineer role focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for Google's consumer products. The team aims to innovate hardware experiences that enhance performance and efficiency. This position involves leading the microarchitectural development of system-on-chip (SoC) and intellectual property (IP) designs. The engineer will work closely with architects and software teams to define new IP and ensure high-quality design outputs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Silicon Engineer-related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience working in a technical leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in microarchitectural development of IP or SoC development and RTL development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and optimize system-on-chip (SoC) designs and custom IP for Google’s consumer devices.
  • Lead the development of cutting-edge SoC and IP microarchitecture to ensure optimal power, performance, and area.
  • Collaborate with architecture and software teams to define new IP and its corresponding micro-architecture.
  • Engage in quality checks of front-end design, including writing RTL and running various quality checks.
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools to improve design efficiency.
