Job description

The Senior Water Reuse Engineer will lead process design and optimization for drinking water and reuse facilities, focusing on sustainable water supply solutions across Idaho and the United States. This role is part of Jacobs' Idaho Water team, which aims to address complex water challenges and enhance community resilience. The engineer will work closely with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering is required, with an M.S. preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Idaho is preferred or the ability to obtain it through comity.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering, with an emphasis on water reuse.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and a proven track record of delivering high-quality planning and design documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish permitting and regulatory strategies related to water reuse, wastewater, and drinking water treatment.
  • Develop technical reports for planning, design, and construction related to water reuse and treatment.
  • Partner with clients on workshops and facility master planning, presenting options and recommendations clearly.
  • Perform process evaluation, design, and optimization for drinking water and reuse treatment systems.
  • Guide commissioning and startup processes, troubleshoot operations, and support digital tools to enhance performance.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers while fostering a collaborative team culture.
  • Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and fee development.
  • Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
