Job description
The Structural Engineer (Civil Works) position at Jacobs focuses on maritime and civil works infrastructure. The role involves leading project teams through the design process while ensuring effective communication with clients, owners, and contractors. Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience designing structures for maritime, civil works, and buildings.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations.
- Proficiency in structural finite element analysis software such as ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP2000, and MathCAD.
- Knowledge of technical codes and standards including IBC, ASCE, and UFC.
- United States Citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams through the design process for various infrastructure projects.
- Interact directly with clients, owners, and contractors to ensure project success.
- Be accountable for the schedule, scope, budget, and quality of engineering tasks.
- Coordinate design activities with waterfront ports and maritime engineers.
- Mentor junior staff and lead project teams effectively.
